Philadelphia Live Arts Fest Epic Dance Party Last Chance Try-Outs June 6, 2012!
Do you love to dance (even if only in front of a mirror)? Do you like to meet interesting people and do exciting, fun & new things? Do you love the idea of being part of something really and truly EPIC, in every sense of the word?
Do you want to something fun and totally awesome that you just want to tell everyone you meet about!?!?!
Of Course You Do!
Last-chance tryouts for Le Grand Continental
part of the 2012 Live Arts Festival are THIS Wednesday, June 6, 7–9pm
at the Live Arts Studio, 919 North 5th Street.
Whether you reenact Flash Dance every night in your living room, or just can’t help but tap your foot to the music playing wherever you are, this dance extravaganza might be for you. Check out the video of a previous performance of Le Grand Continental if that doesn’t make you want to shake it, I don’t know what will:
From the Organizers:
Join the Largest Performance in Festival History! We want the most diverse group possible from all over Philly, so that we can show off the talent, charisma, and personality that makes our city one-of-a-kind! If you are a dancer — professional, amateur, or someone who just loves moving (even if only in front of the mirror) — WE WANT YOU! Ages 10 and up are welcome to participate.
Two hundred people dance their hearts out, what’s not to like?
Absolutely no dance experience required:
If you can have fun, and are willing to learn, then you can participate in this amazingly awesome event! (Trust me, I got selected, and I’m about as uncoordinated & ungraceful as they come.)
You can learn more about the show (and watch a few videos, including footage from the first round of tryouts a few weeks ago) as well as how and where to show up on the Live Arts Le Grand Continental page.
Sign Me Up!
If you don’t need any more convincing, you can sign up for third recruitment session on Wednesday, June 6, at 7pm by directly RSVPing here.
I look forward to seeing some of your bright, shining friendly faces at rehearsals in the next few months

How to cook (like a novice pro)
I LOVE food; like, seriously. I love making it, eating it, talking about it and thinking about it... I am (according to everyone who has ever eaten my food, including me) a really good cook, mostly because I put a lot of love into the things I make for my friends and family, but also because I’ve learned a lot of great lessons along the way via trial and error. People often ask me for advice on how to make cooking seem so second nature; so here it goes: ...more
