Center for Emerging Visual Artists

Dedicated to making art careers viable for those who choose them, helping emerging artists reach their audiences.

Based in Center City, Philadelphia, home to Philadelphia Open Studio Tours

The Center For Emerging Visual Artists, formerly Creative Artists Network, was founded in 1983 by Felicity R. “Bebe” Benoliel to encourage the career development of emerging visual artists. Since then, the organization has worked steadily harder to provide the support essential to talented individuals building careers in the visual arts.

My CFEVA Story
This is where I discovered my passion for the Arts & Culture non profit community, and where I continue to volunteer, support and advocate.

In 2004, while pursuing a degree at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, I had the opportunity to intern with the Career Development Program at CFEVA. I’ve been involved with the organization ever since, jokingly (and hopefully endearingly) referred to as the intern that just wouldn’t leave. After the internship I stayed on as an active volunteer, helping to coordinate the application process for both CDP, POST and the Regional Community Arts Programs. Shortly thereafter, I joined the staff as Administrative Assistant and later Coordinator where I gained an amazing amount of experience in non-profit management. As the 2007 Metamorphosis Young Professionals Fundraiser Event Chair, I began to realize my potential in event organizing, marketing and community management.

I’ve been an RCAP Member since 2006, a Philadelphia Open Studio Tours participating artist since 2007 and have played many rolls in assisting with the organization’s Annual Benefit from 2005-2009. I greatly enjoy any opportunity to get involved with this organization which holds a place near & dear to my heart.
