Little Berlin Open Web Studio

an ongoing web workshop for artists in Philadelphia

Little Berlin at Viking Mill, Indy Hall in Old City, & the internet at large

Open Web Studio is a series of recurring workshops, designed for collaborative learning about the web. It is a resource for Artists learning about the medium of the web, and how to leverage it in their work.

The workshop is structured on the model of ‘Learn One, Do One, Teach One’ in which teaching is meant to be iterative. The learner builds their skill set through practice, and becomes the teacher for a new learner in the group.

My Open Web Studio Story
In the fall of 2010, I went to the first Open Web Studio at the Little Berlin Gallery expecting to share my area of experience in marketing and communications, and instead got totally schooled on getting passionate about coding my own stuff, resulting in the major over-haul of my website. Organized by the incredibly awesome & amazing Kelani Nichole as part of her ongoing work with Little Berlin and in partnership with Indy Hall, this event is usually held on the First Monday of the Month at either Indy Hall in Old City or Little Berlin’s gallery space in Kensington.

I’m excited to explore new TKTK and now I have more confidence and better tools to move forward with new and exciting projects, starting with rebuilding my website, thanks to the help and input of some excellent new friends who’ve inspired me to get my code on.
